This Isn't Something Scrappy...

But it's something that's really important. I can't believe people still buy cage eggs, but I still see them in the shops, so maybe some people don't realise how wrong it is to support battery farms. Chickens are beautiful, smart, friendly creatures, and don't deserve the horror of a life in a battery farm. Please watch this, and if you know anyone who still buys cage eggs, please show this to them too. If no one supported this industry, this wouldnt need to happen anymore.

There are battery hen rescue organisations in Queensland and NSW that I know of so if you have room in your heart and in your yard, why not think about giving a few girls a new life?

I didn't watch the video because I have seen a few of them and anything like that really traumatises me, I am a big animal lover! However I only ever buy free range eggs and chicken :) People are very concerned about it here in the UK too so most eggs seem to be free range :)

I couldn't watch the video Sam. I know it would be too sad. Lucky for us we have our own chookies, our girls, who get spoilt everyday with lots of lovely fresh scraps. There's no way I would support battery farms. It's too cruel. B-)

Couldn't watch either, but will never buy caged eggs, terrible that I pay almost $6.00 a dozen for eggs but I have a rough idea what they do and haven't been able to buy them like that for years. I even boycotted them for a while altogether. Thanks for bringing this to the attention of others my girl. Love Melxx (will email asap) Melxx

It is sad, but I could watch the video either--when I see something really sad, I start crying and thinking for days about it...

Sad to watch. When I was married we raised free ranging chickens. They had the right to roam freely around the hen house as well as an enclosed outside area.

How very fitting... I opened your blog as I was eating my lunch - an omelette! Lucky for me I have a wonderful neighbour who has loads of free-roaming chickens so I always have a supply of fresh 'happy' eggs. Nothing better!

Thanks for posting this. Yes, it did cause me to shed some tears, but it is important for people to know the truth. Animals are living, breathing creatures just like us and do not deserve to be treated this way.

Got my support hun, i am the biggest supporter of animal welfare and always encouraging people to go free range. Would love everyone to go vegetarian to but guess that is a personal choice!!! the thing is that if more people watched things like this then it may sink in, a lot of people will not watch it because deep down they feel guilty & won't change their ways. Although thankgoodness your followers who have commented have changed but find it too distressing. Thanks for bringing attention to this. Hugs Clare xxx
